Anoint the World University Grievance Policy and Resolution Process
At Anoint the World University, we are dedicated to fostering a respectful, equitable, and supportive academic community. While we strive to maintain positive relationships and open communication, we acknowledge that conflicts may occasionally arise. When they do, our grievance procedures offer a structured and principled pathway for addressing and resolving these matters fairly and respectfully.
Drawing on principles of accountability, justice, and reconciliation, our goal is not only to resolve issues but also to promote healing and understanding across our university community.
Anoint the World University (ATWU) is committed to ensuring that all students are treated fairly, respectfully, and in accordance with academic and ethical standards. This policy provides a clear and structured process for students to raise concerns, appeal academic decisions, or file formal complaints related to their educational experience.
Right to Appeal
Students have the right to appeal academic decisions they believe were made in error or handled unfairly. This may include final course grades, academic probation, dismissal, or other academic evaluations. Appeals must be based on evidence such as grading errors, inconsistent application of course policies, or extenuating circumstances that were not previously considered.
Academic Appeal Process
To initiate an appeal, the student must submit a written appeal to the Academic Office within ten (10) business days of receiving the decision in question. The appeal must include a clear description of the issue, supporting documentation, and the resolution being sought. The appeal will be reviewed by a designated academic review committee. A final decision will be communicated to the student in writing within ten (10) business days of review. All decisions by the academic review committee are final.
Grievance Procedure
Students who believe they have experienced unfair treatment, discrimination, harassment, or other non-academic issues are encouraged to follow the university’s grievance process. Complaints should first be addressed informally with the individual or department involved, if appropriate. If the issue is not resolved, a formal written grievance may be submitted to the Office of Student Services.
Filing a Formal Grievance
The formal grievance must include the nature of the complaint, relevant details, dates, and any supporting evidence. Upon receipt, the university will acknowledge the grievance and initiate an internal review. A written response will be provided to the student within fifteen (15) business days. If necessary, further investigation or mediation may be arranged to resolve the matter.
If informal resolution is not possible, a formal grievance may be submitted. This process includes:
1. Written Submission
A formal complaint should be addressed to the President or the Administration, depending on the issue.
The written complaint must include:
2. Investigation and Review
Within 30 days of submission, the designated official will conduct an investigation, which may involve collecting statements, reviewing relevant documentation, and meeting with involved parties.
3. Meetings with Relevant Individuals
All parties may be asked to participate in meetings to share their perspectives and respond to any evidence presented.
4. Resolution and Notification
A written decision will be issued to the complainant, outlining the findings and any actions to be taken. This concludes the formal review process unless an appeal is submitted.
Confidentiality and Protection
All appeals and grievances will be handled with confidentiality and professionalism. ATWU prohibits retaliation against any student who files a complaint or appeal in good faith.
Student Responsibility
Students are expected to engage in the appeals and grievance process with honesty, clarity, and mutual respect. By enrolling at ATWU, students acknowledge their responsibility to follow university procedures in resolving academic or institutional concerns.
If a student feels that their grievance has not been resolved internally, they may choose to file a complaint with Anoint the World University’s accrediting organizations:
Whenever possible, individuals are encouraged to resolve disputes directly with the person(s) involved before pursuing a formal grievance. This aligns with the spirit of collaborative problem-solving and promotes understanding without escalation.
Step 1: Direct Conversation
Open and respectful communication is the first step toward resolution. Individuals should attempt to resolve the issue informally through dialogue.
Step 2: Mediation
If informal efforts are unsuccessful, mediation with a neutral third party (such as a staff or faculty member or administrator) may be arranged. This setting allows both sides to share their perspectives and work toward a constructive resolution.
If you have any questions about submitting a grievance or would like to discuss your concerns privately, please contact the Administration Team.
